A lot of teams are making their case for inclusion in
the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Five more
automatic bids were handed out today, bringing the total to twelve tickets
punched for the tournament.

Notre Dame survived a late push by league dweller Pitt to
remain in the hunt for an at-large bid.
Notre Dame is another interesting case because of the Bonzie Colson
situation. A top player gets hurt, then
comes back, reshaping the outlook of the team.
The question is, how will the committee judge them? Will they look at total profile, or look at
potential? I tend to think Notre Dame
needs at least one more, and probably two more wins in the ACC tournament to
grab an at-large bid.
Syracuse held on to beat a pesky Wake Forest team, who would
just not give in. After dominating the
first ten minutes of the game, the Orange fell apart on both ends of the court,
allowing Wake to pull within 6 at the half.
Eventually the Cuse pulled away in the second half to grab a much needed
win for their tourney resume. Jim
Boeheim and the Orange moves on to face North Carolina in the 2nd
round of the ACC tournament tomorrow night in a huge game for their tournament bid.
Look Ahead
Tomorrow, the action really picks up with 30+ games on the
schedule, and several more conference tournaments starting. Check back in the morning for a roundup of
high impact games. New seed list coming
Thursday.
