3/7 Today’s High Impact Games

Today the conference tournament action really ramps up.  A number of bubble teams will be in play, as well as teams looking to improve seeding for the NCAA Tournament. Today’s slate:

Conference Tournament Finals (Auto-bids)

Patriot League- Colgate vs Bucknell 7:30pm

Bubble Watch

Louisville vs Florida State 12pm  -  Much needed game for Louisville at this point.

Arizona St. vs Colorado 3pm

Oklahoma vs Oklahoma St. 7pm  -  Battle of bubble squads, although some still have Oklahoma safely in, I think they need this win.

Notre Dame vs Virginia Tech 7pm  -  How many more do the Irish need to win?  I say two.

Oregon St. vs Washington 9pm

Iowa St. vs Texas 9pm

Syracuse vs North Carolina 9pm  -  Syracuse looking to cement bid with this win, otherwise sweat until Selection Sunday.

Depaul vs Marquette 9:30pm

Current Last Four In: Syracuse, Alabama, Arizona St., Marquette

Current First Four Out: St. Mary’s, Baylor, Louisville, Oklahoma St.

Race for #1 Seeds: Virginia, Villanova, Xavier, Duke

Full updated Seed List coming after Thursday night's games.

  1. Unfortunately, ND will get the benefit of the doubt with Colson back, I say beat Lville and they are safe. Some (Lunardi) say Cuse needs to get to Semi's. I say beat UNC and in. Oklahoma should not be in without 1, maybe two more wins. Trae Young isn't a reason for an "auto" bid. Their mid season slide should count for something.

    1. I definitely agree with ND. I think they need two more wins for a standard bubble resume, especially after barely beating Pitt. But you are right, with Colson back, it is like they are being evaluated as a whole new team. The committee will want ND in, and you could say the same about Trae Young in Oklahoma. I would say Cuse still has a shot with a loss tonight, but it is under 50%.
